Welcome to EPB. We look forward to serving you. Getting started is easy. To start electric service, we will need to know if you are:

Moving to a location where EPB Service has existed previously
Installing Temporary Service
Starting Service on a Newly-Built Home

Start Service where service existed previously


We look forward to serving you at EPB. Turn-on service is available Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. It's easy to start electric service at your new address. If this location has had electric service in the past, just go to the
Service-New Customer form and fill it out. You can choose the following power turn-on options:

Next Day Service - Cost $17.00
Contact EPB at least one business day prior to your anticipated move-in date.

Same Day Service - Cost $29.00
Contact EPB by 4:30 pm the day of your anticipated move-in date.

Same Day Service - Cost $64.00
Contact EPB after 4:30 pm but no later than 6 pm the day of your anticipate move-in date.

Any requests to have service turned-on after 6 pm will be processed the next business day.

You don't need to be home when we connect your power if we can safely access the meter. In order to serve you, we must have unrestricted access to the electric meter to turn service on or off. EPB employees cannot enter fenced yards with locked gates nor, for their own safety, can our employees enter yards where dogs are present off leash.

    Install Temporary Service


    If you are in the process of building a home, you will likely need temporary service to build your house. Temporary service supplies a limited amount of power for home construction. It basically consists of a meter and electrical outlets designed to use for power equipment. It is not designed for permanent electric service.

    Existing Customers and Builders-Existing customers moving within the service area or homebuilders can simply fill out our
    Builder Service Request Form to schedule an installation of your temporary service, or call EPB at 648-1EPB and a customer service representative will be happy to assist you.

    New Customers-If you are new to the EPB service area and have never had EPB service before, you must apply for service with EPB before requesting temporary service installation. You can both apply and request temporary service with the Start Service-New Construction.

    The fee for installing temporary service is $128. In order to have temporary service installed, you must first have a temporary stand and meter center attachment in place, complete with an inspection sticker from your local electrical inspector.

    If EPB power lines are in the area of your construction, we can have the service connected the next business day after your application is completed. If EPB power lines are not in the area, then an EPB design representative will work with you to schedule a site visit and determine the time frame in which we can have the service connected.

    To apply for temporary service, use the form below:

    Start Service-New Construction

    Once the temporary service is installed, you must contact EPB when you are ready to schedule permanent overhead service or have underground service installed. You can do so by calling 648-1EPB or filling out the Builder Service Request Form.

    New Construction-Install Permanent Service


    If you are a new customer and have never had service with EPB, you must apply for new service with EPB by calling 648-1EPB or using our
    New Construction Permanent Service Turn-On form.

    If you have already had temporary service installed and you are ready for permanent service to your new construction, simply use the Builder Service Request Form. Using this form, you can let EPB know if you either need permanent service installed or if you want EPB to perform underground trenching for your service lines.

    There is no charge for either of the services listed below.

    Permanent Service-If you are requesting permanent service installation for new construction, you must have an inspection sticker on your meter center from your local electrical inspector before we can connect your meter. When completed, we can set your new meter and connect your service the next business day after your request.

    Underground Permanent Trenching-You may request permanent underground lines for your new construction, even if you do not have your meter center or inspection completed. EPB will install the underground service if the following actions are completed by the customer:

  • Customer clears a path for digging between EPB power point and the customer service point.
  • The path must be to final grade
  • Building must be far enough along, with confidence to know where to run the service

    Once the actions are completed, EPB will perform the underground work and complete it in eight (8) business days. When your underground service is complete, and you are ready to connect your permanent service, you must contact EPB at 648-1EPB or use the Builder Service Request Form.
