Customer Help: Reporting an Outage

Business and Residential Customers--Call (423) 648-1EPB to Report an Outage.

The fastest way to report an outage is with our automated system. Simply call 648-1EPB and follow the voice prompts. The Outage Management System will ask you for the information required for us to respond to the problem more efficiently and quickly. Using the automated Outage Management System allows us to handle and process calls more quickly and it helps us to identify the possible area of trouble faster.

Please have the following information available when you call:

  • Your name and address
  • Type of electrical problem you're experiencing
  • Time you first noticed the problem
  • Cause of problem, if obvious (i.e. fallen tree over power lines, lightning strike, etc.)
  • Area affected, if known

Sometimes an outage can be caused by a blown or tripped fuse. Check your fuse box or breaker panel to see if this could be the cause. If a fuse is not blown or a breaker is not tripped to the "OFF" position, call EPB Customer Service at (423) 648-1EPB.

Call EPB if you notice Electrical Interference.

A buzz on your radio or static on your television could be due to electrical interference. The interference could be caused by an appliance, like a vacuum cleaner, ceiling fan or microwave. But it could also be caused by power lines. If you experience interference on a continuous basis, please call us to investigate.
